Dan brings over 20 years of expertise in all areas of the Senior Living Industry. He has been involved with over 30 ground-up communities, and provided direct leadership for over 100 stabilized communities and overseen dozens of turnarounds.
Most recently Dan has helped build two senior living organizations. As the Principal | President | Chief Operating Officer for a Northwest-based Operator, he helped scale the organization through strategic M&A execution. In three years, the company grew from 5 communities to 21 through ground-up development and acquisitions. Prior to that Dan was the Chief Operating Officer of another Northwest based Operator. During his tenure, the company scaled from twenty two communities to thirty-five including a robust development pipeline. Dan's leadership role was pivotal in providing stability and strategic planning for the fast-growing organization.
Dan’s background includes senior housing leadership roles such as a Principal, President, Chief Operating Officer, VP of Operations and today is a capital partner in over a dozen senior housing communities across the United States. Dan is member of the Urban Land Institute – Senior Housing Council and is a frequent guest speaker on industry topics - Senior Housing News, Seniors Housing Business Magazine, National Investment Center, and ASHA.
Laurie McConnell Stump brings twenty years’ of senior living experience to ASL. Laurie began her career as a caregiver at an assisted living community and quickly moved into a leadership role as a Resident Care Coordinator overseeing direct care for all residents. Laurie continued her climb up the career ladder holding the roles as Director of Memory Care, Executive Director, Regional Director of Operations and now serves ASL as its Vice President of Operations.
At ASL Laurie is a distressed asset interventionist where she focuses on turning around underperforming communities.
Laurie is a team builder that has built some amazing teams throughout her career. She enjoys mentoring caregivers for success, building strong teams, taking on challenges and serving residents!
Melissa and her family reside in Stockton California where she has spent the last 20 years holding various positions in the Senior living Industry.
Melissa has spent most of her career directly caring for residents. First as a care manager working with Atria Senior living for 15 years. Moving up to Memory Care Director, Executive Director and now to Director of Operations - West for ASL. Healthcare and and caring for Seniors has always been her passion leading her to her Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix and is currently working on her Masters of Gerontology from University of Southern California.
Melissa’s gives first class support to her communities that she oversees and making sure our residents get the best care they deserve. Melissa enjoys spending with her family focusing on her children's journey through in life.
Maurlica resides in Amarillo TX, by way of a small town in Oklahoma. She has spent the last 21 years serving the healthcare community.
After graduating nursing school in 2001, Maurlica spent some time in several different roles within health care and senior living. In 2013, with her vast knowledge and experience, Maurlica decided to start her own business with her best friend. In a short period of time, Maurlica was able to turn one of the first nurse owned urgent cares in Texas into a successful business.
After selling the clinic to spend more time with her family, Maurlica began her marketing career. Maurlica has served as a Director of Sales and Marketing, a Sales Specialist, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing and serves Ally Senior Living as its Vice President of Sales and Makreting.
Maurlica’s passion is to be a blessing and lighthouse for families during their senior years. In Maurlica’s spare time, she likes to travel, shop, read and spend time with her family
Vanessa Llorente brings over 20 years of experience in the senior living industry with a diverse background in sales and operations. She specializes in the transition of distressed Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Independent Living communities. Vanessa has participated in several turnarounds to date, as the project manager of distressed acquisitions.
Vanessa started her career in senior care working as a spend management consultant, serving the Oregon Healthcare Association. She then transitioned to working directly for Assisted Living and Memory Care communities. This is where she found her love and passion for serving residents, supporting their families, and building teams. She has led many teams in achieving high performance standards by providing exceptional care to residents and a positive work culture for employees.
Most recently, Vanessa held a position as Director of Culture and Leadership Development. She provided training programs and operational support to eighteen communities across nine states with a strong focus on employee management and organizational culture.
Laura began her career in healthcare at the age of 19 as a CNA, working with Alzheimer’s residents for 4 years and then went on to work in the hospital in the telemetry unit while completing college. After staying home for several years to raise her 4 daughters, Laura went back to work teaching disabled children. This brought Laura back to working with seniors in Senior living starting out as the Concierge, being promoted to Sales manager, moving up to Assistant Executive Director and then the Executive Director. Laura has a passion for mentoring people to grow to their highest potential, training, team building, census growth, and obtaining financial stability. Laura is very well versed in state regulations, processes, and understands what it takes to turn a building around.
In Laura’s spare time she like to spend time in Pine, Arizona hiking and gardening. Laura enjoys being outdoors, painting, cooking, and spending time with her Golden Retriever, Crosby, and her four daughters.
